Modular UI Design 📬 For CBS Email Design System

🌋 The problem

CBS had a goal: promote its growing list of streaming shows via emails. — but the emails themselves lacked structure, flexibility, and brand presence. They felt more like quick fixes, inconsistent UI, bad user experience that led to unsucessful metrics. So I led the design of a modular UI framework and created a new design system that brought visual order, on-brand energy, and measurable impact.

🌳 The solution

I began by auditing existing templates and identifying UX pain points. In collaboration with the UX/content teams, we also ran user research and competitive analysis. From there, I designed a modular system composed of reusable components — including evergreen and seasonal headers, flexible content modules with better typography hierarchy, CTA buttons, badges, and a redesigned footer.

The new template supports dynamic and personalized content with high flexibility for customization. I also provided design documentation for both designers and developers to ensure future-proof consistency and easy updates.
